OIM3640 Data Analytics with Python and AI
4 Advanced Liberal Arts Credits
This course introduces applied data analytics as a practical approach to business problem solving in the age of AI. Building on prior Python experience, students use Python and AI-assisted tools to explore data, test assumptions, and translate analytical results into business-relevant insights. The course emphasizes problem formulation, interpretation of outputs, and decision making, with particular attention to evaluating the reliability and limitations of AI-generated analyses. Through hands-on, project-based work, students learn when analytics can meaningfully inform business decisions and when human judgment, contextual knowledge, or caution is required, preparing them to be thoughtful and responsible users of data analytics in modern business environments.
Prerequisite: OIM 2000 and AQM 1000 and basic Python programming experience is preferred
