The purpose of this class is to help students understand the complicated go-to-market strategies of even the most "ordinary" foods. Additionally, we want students to understand the complexity of the supply chain involved in bringing bananas across the world for consumption. Because of the rich and complicated history of bananas, we also hope students understand some of the social and environmental challenges associated with bananas as well. By framing this as a "gratitude journey" we hope that students will build a healthy appreciation for the origins of their food, as well as a better understanding of the systems of distribution and delivery.
